Doughnuts and fitness arent natural bedfellows but running shoe giant Saucony is trying to persuade us otherwise.
Because its just brought out a pair of Dunkin Donuts-inspired trainers.
In what sounds distinctly like an April Fools (which we believe it isnt…), the two Boston-based brands have teamed up to celebrate the symbiotic relationships between runners and coffee, as well as doughnuts.
And the result is the Kinvara 9.
The design pays homage to the 2018 Boston Marathon which will take place next month.
As we celebrate Sauconys 120th anniversary were proud to honour our hometown marathon and Bostons rich running heritage in partnership with Dunkin Donuts, a brand known for “keeping America running”, says Amanda Reiss, chief marketing officer at Saucony.
The Saucony X Dunkin Kinvara 9 celebrates the joy, determination and delicious obsession of runners everywhere with a sense of playfulness thats true to the heart and soul of both brands. And just as the marathon brings out the best in all of us, Saucony continually strives to create the best gear in our world, so that runners everywhere can boldly run theirs.
The Saucony x Dunkin Donuts Kinvara 9 will come in their own unique packaging – designed to recreate the classic Dunkin Donuts box, along with three different sets of laces.
Finally, one sneaker collab we can all get on board with even if were not Boston-based.
You can get your hands on a pair for $110 (£77) here.
