It’s hard being a dedicated follower of fashion.
Sometimes you don’t know when you’re latching onto a Super Quirky Trend and when you’re being merked by a brand’s designer.
Do we blindly buy these new offerings and risk getting pointed at by Year Nines on the bus?
The latest sartorial stumper is the tracksuit beret.
Yes, that’s right, a beret that goes with your trackies – the spawn of a collaboration between Japanese clothing brand, Beam, and US brand, Champion, for Beam’s female sub-brand, Beam Boy.
It’s made out of sweatpant material, and even comes with a tracksuit-style drawstring.
The sweat beret comes in two colours – navy and heather grey, and we recommend you avoid grey if you’ll be using this headgear on the treadmill. We all know how much grey shows sweat, don’t we? *flashback to that one unexpectedly hot day we had last summer*
May we suggest you invest in one of these bad boys as a little head warmer on the way to your gym class, because let’s be real, it looks like we’re having a 365 day winter this year.
Or how about wearing it during your HIIT sesh, to really test out those drawstrings? Maybe be a total quirk monster and wear it instead of a swim cap in the pool? #drenched
You’ll be able to get your beret fix over at Beams, but we’ve had a look and those particular berets aren’t on sale yet, so keep your beady eyes out.
In other news, Beams really need to sort out the lighting in their Instagram product shots. Their pics aren’t dissimilar to my inebriated Depop efforts.
Get a better studio set-up, huns. Treat yourselves.
